Hosokawa Tadatoshi is considered the third Edo period head of the Hosokawa clan. A son of Hosokawa Tadaoki (Sansai) and Hosokawa Gracia, he was the lord of Kokura han until 1632, when he was transferred by the Tokugawa shogunate to Kumamoto han, where the Hosokawa would remain through the end of the Edo period.
