  • Japanese: 講武所 (Koubusho)

The Kôbusho was a bujutsu dojo established in 1856 by the Tokugawa shogunate to train shogunate retainers and their sons. The Kôbusho taught not only swordsmanship (Kenjutsu) but also Sôjutsu, gunnery (Hôjutsu), archery (Kyûjutsu), and Jujutsu.

In 1866, the Kôbusho was closed and the place became a Hôjutsu (gunnery) training school.
